Mainframe Engineer/Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mainframe Engineer/Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, testing, and integration of Mainframe applications.

This role provides an outstanding opportunity to work on mission-critical systems and ensure high-quality implementations.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ, and JCL while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and integrate Mainframe applications in a high-energy team environment.
• Perform code research, debugging, and enhancements to optimize application performance.
• Work with environment teams to ensure smooth transitions from development to production.
• Provide technical expertise in CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, MQ, and JCL.
• Utilize DB2 tools, File-Aid, schedulers, and debuggers for efficient database management.
• Support CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing and ensure system stability.
• Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and implement changes.
• Manage secure file transfers (SFTP/AWXAY) and support Endeavor Software Manager migrations.
• Work independently or within a team-oriented structure to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Mainframe coding and debugging.
• 5+ years of experience in COBOL programming.
• Strong knowledge of CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ, and JCL.
• Familiarity with DB2 tools, File-Aid, and debugging/scheduler tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CICS System knowledge and CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing.
• Basic knowledge of core Java and Front-End Technologies (Angular).
• Experience with Endeavor Software Manager for migration processes.
• Knowledge of SFTP/AWXAY Secure File Transfers.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
