In this role, the Director, Team Sports Marketing will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing strategies that enhance the visibility, brand equity, and fan engagement of the sports teams, leagues, and athletic organization partnerships under their purview. This role involves working closely with various cross-functional departments to ensure cohesive and effective marketing campaigns that align with the business objectives. This individual will lead effective internal and external stakeholder management, innovative marketing tactics, and comprehensive brand management.

Job Description

MARKETING STRATEGY & PLANNING

Marketing Strategy & Planning with a focus on national sports team, league, and federation partnerships in professional and collegiate mainstream sport areas.

Co-create and execute comprehensive 360 campaigns that showcase our Team Sport portfolio, aligning with relevant business goals and objectives.

Own and manage the budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.

Build compelling business cases to drive incremental investment and cross-functional buy-in.

Work in partnership with Media Network counterparts to develop and lead strategic communications through storytelling, earned media, and influencer relations to reach and engage new consumers.

Lead the conceptualization and execution of innovative marketing campaigns that capture the essence of our team partnership and translate partnership assets to consumer engagement.

Ensure understanding of product efficacy and communication is fundamental for each team/athlete.

Negotiate team, league, and/or player agreements and contracts, including performance expectations and goals.

Work with the team/athlete's "circle of trust" and partners to create additional outcomes and opportunities to extend the product and brand message.

Provide regular reports and insights into team performance.

Plan and execute special events/activations, game day promotions, and creative marketing tactics that enhance the fan experience, collaborating with field marketing and other departments for maximum impact.

Analyze the effectiveness of events and promotions to inform future strategies.

Manage partnership assets such as tickets across the business effectively.

ATHLETE MARKETING & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Set individual athlete goals and target outcomes aligned with national and global sports marketing strategy.

Drive excellent execution across all areas of Red Bull's marketing mix while ensuring sportive credibility and alignment with Red Bull's global sports marketing standards.

Create strategic marketing campaigns, projects, and activations that highlight Red Bull's partnership and drive awareness and relevance at a national and/or global scale. The team/athlete's credible and authentic display of Red Bull's product functionality along with brand association through apparel and equipment branding will be critical executional components.

Work closely with the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center (APC) Global team to ensure maximum support is integrated to each team/athlete's sportive performance goals and targets.

Work closely with Media Network counterparts and external media stakeholders to amplify communication of all ATL and BTL athlete marketing activities and efforts.

Create a well-rounded 365-day plan for the teams/athletes, including marketing activities, communication, and performance.

Clearly communicate these plans to the wider business to ensure that all departments of Red Bull are aware of the opportunities that teams/athletes create.

Coordinate with the Field Marketing team to create campaigns that drive the positive perception that athletes consume Red Bull in a functional moment of need.

Consult and align with regional and field marketing leadership on building regional activation campaigns and projects to leverage the national Team Sport and Athlete portfolio.

Qualifications

8+ years direct team sport and/or athlete marketing and high-profile talent management experience

3+ years direct team/people management and development experience

Proven experience in Sports Marketing, including marketing for athletes and events

Experience leading high-level negotiations (8-figure+) with complex organizations

In-depth knowledge of sports management and the sports landscape, with a focus on mainstream sports

Strong influencing skills to engage a host of key stakeholders across a broad range of sports

Exceptional communication skills, including training and presentation abilities

Proven track record of excellent planning, organizational, and project management competencies

Openness to new scenes, ideas, processes, innovation, and possibilities

Entrepreneurial spirit - self-starter with a focus on results and consumer outcomes

Excellent budget management skills

Excellent attention to detail

Strong understanding of social media with regular interaction

Proven track record of planning and project management competencies

Adaptability - the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage

Additional Information

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $115,280 - $172,920 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
