Position Summary
First Batch Hospitality is looking for a Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will involve a range of financial and administrative responsibilities, supporting the financial decision-making processes within our growing hospitality and winery business. The Finance Analyst will play a key role in driving financial insights that contribute to the company's continued success and growth.
This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in forecasting and budgeting activities with the primary goals of identifying opportunities and reducing operating costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a solid foundation in finance and accounting. This position reports to the Director of Finance & Analytics.

Core Responsibilities
- Collect and organize financial data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare, analyze and distribute regular financial reports and dashboards to relevant stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas of opportunity.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis by reviewing and interpreting financial statements, identifying key financial trends, and assessing the company's financial performance.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide explanations for discrepancies, helping management understand financial performance during monthly departmental reviews.
- Build and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis,
- Analyze cost structures and cost drivers, and offer insights into cost optimization opportunities.
- Assist with preparation of month end reporting and reconciliation including but not limited to:
- Monthly review and closing of event bookings and associated transactions
- Reconcile online and onsite point of sale transactions to payments received
- Monthly payroll reporting and payment reconciliation
- Transaction reconciliation for linked bank accounts and credit cards
- Monthly bank reconciliation
- End of month journal entries
- Assist with preparation and filing of monthly sales tax reports and payments
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Track and manage online bill payment
- Process employee reimbursement requests and associated monthly journal entries
- Assist with special financial projects and ad hoc analysis as required by management.
- Assist with bookkeeping and accounting functions as needed for the Company using QuickBooks Online accounting software
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience working as a financial analyst
- Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
- Foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and bookkeeping procedures
- Knowledge of business and accounting terms such as revenue, expenses, profit, ROI, assets, liabilities, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, etc.
- Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to think critically
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different locations.
- Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in the Hospitality Industry is a plus
Compensation
- $80,000-85,000 annually
