Role:

The Spacecraft EGSE Engineer will be responsible for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for advanced telecommunication satellites at both bus and spacecraft integration stages.

Tasks:

  • Review test plans and test system requirements, assess feasibility and propose efficient implementation
  • Equipment selection and technical oversight of key EGSE suppliers
  • Integration of EGSE from multiple suppliers into a coherent test set for platform and spacecraft level tests.
  • Electrical System EGSE implementation, commissioning and maintenance
  • Design of Test harnesses, system protections and overall EGSE interconnects
  • Production of relevant EGSE documentation
  • Operationalize EGSE for high volume production
  • Participate in cross-functional teams
  • May need to supervise testing activities.


Required Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in test station design and implementation for electronics in one of the following field: digital, analog, power or RF electronics.
  • Experience in testing electronic systems, ideally related to spacecraft integration
  • Extensive experience with laboratory instrumentation
  • High level of autonomy with strong team work skills.
  • Good personal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual (French / English)


Assets:

  • Experience in Assembly, integration and Test Team for complex systems
  • Experience with sensors and actuators
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CANbus, SpaceWire, SPI serial link, CCSDS
  • Experience with CCS5

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
