Expected pay for this position is $36.39 - $42.81/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Laboratory Clinical Coordinator collaborates with OSF Laboratory and Hospital Leadership to ensure high quality services are provided. Supports a team based approach and adherence to fiscal and strategic plans. The individual participates in and assists in developing monitoring activities to support improvement and accuracy. Utilizes data visualization and presentation techniques to clearly articulate performance, summarize key findings and translate data into actionable information. Identifies opportunities for both process and quality improvements and serve as a departmental subject matter expert in organizational quality improvement initiatives. The Laboratory Clinical Coordinator monitors and maintains various laboratory records and materials according to applicable standards. Assists laboratory management with project development and implementation and complete special projects as needed. Coordinate resolution and implementation of quality, process and other software solutions to enhance the productivity of the department while standardizing laboratory processes.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or applicable field and 1 years' experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in related discipline
OR
- An associate's degree as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) with the successful completion of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Board of Certification
- CLT exam or obtained within the first year of employment and 3-5 years' experience
OR
- For Labs with specialty departments, Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in a science field such as Biology or Chemistry, with at least 4 years of work experience in a clinical lab setting.
- Alternative bachelor's degrees will be considered with 4 years' work experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or quality role.
Other Licenses/Certifications:
- Successful completion of the ASCP Medical Technology (MT) registration exam, AMT or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA)
- Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) certification exam within 1 year of employment
Other skills/knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
License/Certifications:
- Certification in applicable technical specialty
Experience:
- 1 year EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
- 1 year laboratory quality control and auto-verification concepts, middleware and analysis systems experience
