JobSummary
Reporting tothe Dean of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship, the incumbent will be responsiblefor providing academic, financial and strategic planning leadership in the electrical,motive power and elevating device programs, as well as apprenticeshipofferings.
Responsibilityfor these programs includes the supervision and management of full andpart-time Faculty and Support Staff, the quality of education provided to over 1000students, and the distribution of and use of all resources in the department.In addition, this position will have an emphasis on outreach to the community,business and industry for the purposes of promoting positive communityrelations, partnerships and work integrated learning in the community.
This positionwill also require the participation and leadership to engage faculty andenhance the learning experience for students.
The incumbentwill also be responsible for providing leadership in project management for keyactivities within their area as well as supporting the faculty in the planning,development, delivery and on-going review of the strategic plan to ensure theprograms are aligned with student and employer needs.

Thesuccessful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and management skillswithin a complex organization. They will be adept at implementing programs andservices that address current and future education and training needs whileproviding leadership in curriculum and academic policy development. Acommitment to collaboration and alignment with Mohawk College's Vision,Mission, Values, and Strategic Directions is essential.
Theideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with aMaster's degree considered an asset. They should have extensive experience inteaching, coordination, or management within post-secondary education, alongwith significant industry experience. A background in skilled trades andapprenticeship is also considered an asset.
This rolerequires administrative or management experience, preferably in the community collegesystem or community services field, with knowledge of issues affecting skilledtrades and apprenticeship. The candidate must be highly organized, able tomultitask, and possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, andproblem-solving skills.
Experiencefostering partnerships, working within a unionized environment, andcollaborating across multiple stakeholders is essential. The incumbent willalso work closely with other Associate Deans across the College.
