Your Role
The Director, Product Management Pharmacy Benefits is a pivotal leadership role within Stellarus/Blue Shield of California responsible for overseeing all aspects of the commercialization of a pharmacy product offering and program for health plan partners. In this role you will work directly with the Vice President of Product Management to define the commercial strategy from discovery to delivery and launch in the market.
This role requires a deep understanding of health plan markets and the intersection of pharmacy networks and benefit management solutions including benefit design, utilization and medication costs, medication claims management, medication reimbursement strategies, vendor contract management and provider and member engagement.
This role ensures that our product offerings (technology & services) are effectively brought to market, implemented, maintained and continuously improved. The Director will be responsible for defining the day-to-day operational model in close partnership with Blue Shield of California who has implemented pharmacy care reimagined. In this role, the leader will be required to effectively lead with a product management mindset and lead cross-functional teams, contributing to defining and implementing the commercialization plan. The commercialization will include activities from idea discovery through product offering launch, market response and ongoing operations, ensuring alignment with cross functional teams, including marketing, communication, and technology teams. The Director will have a significant impact on Stellarus/BSC by ensuring our pharmacy product offerings are efficiently and effectively managed through the lifecycle. This role will enhance our market position, improve customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall success of Stellarus/BSC.

Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role you will have the responsibilities listed below:
Strategic Roadmap Development: Manage the strategic product offering roadmap, product development, partnerships and service teams required to commercialize the product offering beyond the first customer. Establish direction and prioritization for new capabilities that increase the value of the offering and align to the product offering strategy and business case, including state and federal regulations. Define and develop a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the company's strategic goals and market demands. Ensure product development product launch and marketing align with business, market, and technology strategies. Idea Generation and Validation: Responsible for making moderate to significant product strategy decisions that represent innovative problems solving to increase value of the product offerings and speed to market. Lead the ideation process, conducting market research and engaging with stakeholders to validate product ideas and ensure market fit. Product Design and Development: Establish a product roadmap with a three-to-five-year horizon with operational plan for year 1 representing cross functional team integration. Oversee cross-functional product squads to ensure the teams are advancing product capabilities required to meet market, business, and user needs. Oversee the design and development of the products, technology, and services, ensuring they meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. Document as needed functional requirements to enable product and service development within product squads. Collaborate with technology and engineering and technical product managers following agile development process. Communication & Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with health plan pharmacy, engineering, technology, marketing, sales, partnerships, and other departments to ensure cohesive product and service development, integration, and successful launches. Communicate with parties within and outside of own job function. Works to influence others to accept view/practices and agree or accept new concepts and approaches. Pharmacy: Collaborate with market leaders across business segments, internal and external customers to understand priorities for pharmacy networks, managed care, retail, specialty pharmacy and PBM Plan designs. Translation of those priorities into functional product, technology, and service requirements. Utilize knowledge of pharmacy network, contracting, PBM business drivers, and market dynamics to develop the product offering. Pharmacy Implementation: Collaborate with pharmacy subject matter experts to define and standardize new client implementation processes including, but not limited to data integration, contract integration, and pricing structures. Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure high satisfaction with product offerings. Performance Tracking & Continuous improvement: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and guide future development efforts. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing best practices in product management. Leadership & Management: Manage a team of product owners & product designers responsible for advancing product requirements and creating product prototypes for user feedback and iterative agile development. Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans aligned with product offering roadmap.

Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelors degree is required, PharmD licensure preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Product Management, Management Consulting, or Entrepreneurship, including 6 years of management experience gained as a team leader, supervisor or project/program manager.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and/or Pharmacy Managed Care Experience.
- Requires strong quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills.
- Requires advanced knowledge of healthcare industry provider, health plan and health plan operations, management.
- Requires outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills and the ability to communication with leadership and influence decision making.
- Entrepreneurially spirited and visionary, who is unafraid of being a trailblazer, start-up mentality, zero to one experience building product teams and offerings.
- Knowledge of pharmacy requirements and benefits for fully insured, ASO, Medicare and Medicaid desired.
