Job Overview
The Planning Manager is responsible for developing and executing the demand forecasts while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. This position plays a leading role in ensuring tight alignment of the demand forecasts to sales outlooks, customer demand, production plans and key performance metrics. The Planning Manager is responsible for accuracy of the forecasts, MRP, planning and execution of build plans while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Reports to VP of Global Supply Chain and Logistics. Located at the Unigen Headquarters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management of the Planning group
Direct the activities of all functions involved in the materials planning from receipt of forecasting replenishment needs to the delivery of the finished product to customer(s) Manage the Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) function for demand management (sales orders and forecast) to align with customer requirements, material availability, and capacity planning Manage inventory and establish controls to ensure Unigen is operating at the highest level of performance based onKPIs and minimized supply chain risk Ensure key Planning processes are established, documented, and followed within Planning group Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function through training, coaching and mentoring Develop and maintain performance metrics and manage performance of the function's personnel. Key Performance Metrics: Forecast Accuracy, Inventory Turns, Product Constraints, E&O
Operational Oversight and Process Optimization
Develop and optimize planning processes, statistical models, forecasting methods and forecasting tools to continuously improve quality of demand inputs/signals and forecast accuracy Responsible for the complete cycle of material flow - from the purchase and control of materials to the planning and control of material in process to the finished product Analyze and recommend inventory buffer strategies that enable upside flexibility at key points throughout the supply chain while minimizing excess inventory exposures Execute standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) for Master Production Scheduling Oversee processes involving Order Manager, Program Management and Planning to help resolve short and long-range supply/demand imbalances that present risks to customers, revenue, inventory and E&O
Cross- Functional Expertise and Collaboration
Analyze and recommend inventory buffer strategies that enable upside flexibility at key points throughout the supply chain while minimizing excess inventory exposures Provide periodic analysis of forecast accuracy, demand trends and inventory levels; provide visibility to broader organization on drivers that contribute to forecast errors and propose/drive opportunities for improvement Participate in existing and new product planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials to support product build
Qualifications:
Salary Range: $100K- $115K annually

Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years related business experience in planning, forecasting, demand management and/or materials planning
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Finance, Statistics or Supply Chain or Operations
- Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of financial and operational impacts
- Demonstrated success implementing inventory planning methods
- Supervising staff, including selection of personnel, performance management and delegation of duties
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to extract and explain insights from data
- Proficient in PC Skills: Word, Power Point and Advanced Excel with the ability to create pivot tables, apply mathematical and logical formulas, and write macros for ad hoc analyses
- Strong communication skills (both written & verbal); ability to interface with personnel at all levels throughout the business
- Experience with ERP systems; Oracle a plus
- Active in professional organizations; APICS certifications a plus
Salary Range: $100K- $115K annually
