Description:
To support the accounting department by collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, particularly in preparation for an upcoming ERP transformation. This position will focus on performing and assisting with a wide range of financial accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting team, ensuring seamless financial operations and contributing to the department's strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties as assigned.)
Ensures accuracy of accounts payable and accounts receivable reports
Responsible for vendors maintenance (backup)
Responsible to close assigned general ledger accounts timely every month, prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis reports, reconcile inter-company accounts, bank reconciliations, and perform cash clearing
Responsible for fixed assets, including reconciling CIP, hold monthly CIP review meeting, process additions, transfers, & retirements, conducting asset inventory, and periodic reconciliation to the general ledger
Prepare financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations
Management of fixed assets and lease schedules
Variance analysis relating to month-end close
Supporting month-end and year-end close
Responsible for sales tax filing and maintenance for all registered states
Responsible for property tax filing for all locations
Prepare governmental census / compliance reporting as needed
Audit and process expense reports submit through Concur
Administer Concur and provide on-boarding training to new users
Responsible for P-Card program
Review and audit of expenses
Hands on support within cash disbursements, cash receipts, payroll entries, corporate card processing
Perform GL account reconciliations as assigned
Assist in special projects and analysis, other tasks as assigned
Identify, recommend, and/or implement accounting methods and procedures to improve efficiencies and accuracy
Active participation and involvement in Internal and external audits and monthly SOX compliance
Ownership over audit findings, close open items and maintain compliance
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include the following.
Preferred SAP experience
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP & IFRS)
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Accounting
Minimum three years of experience in a staff accountant role

Salary Description
$78,000-$90,000 DOE
