Materials Planner/Scheduler

Responsible for planning and entering requisitions to meet the raw material demand required to support the manufacturing of goods for our customers. This involves review of our ERP data, evaluation of our current inventory position, and determination of materials to procure. Communication of the expected availability dates to customer service to allow them to coordinate the schedule and confirm delivery dates to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Translate customer requirements (PO's, MRP, forecast, etc.) into production orders, machine needs and process changes to comply with customer needs.
  • Expedite processing/order planning and production in accordance with internal rules and procedures.
  • Apply supply chain strategies regarding inventory levels (safety stock, min/max, super market) that minimize production interruptions and maintain our working capital targets.
  • Utilize procedures and systems to identify at risk material and evaluate alternate uses of material prior to the material reaching 180 days.
  • Diagnose any material shortage and implement corrective strategies as needed.
  • Review and challenge forecasted demand to ensure the purchase of correct material.
  • As the forecast changes, identify newly at risk material due to loss or reduction of volume and communicate to the management team and sales team to understand and potentially develop a mitigation strategy.
  • Continue to drive/participate in current processes: Weekly production/material review, procurement review for key materials, and coordination of material available with the scheduling team.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal business relationships with the plant management team, customer service, sales, and upper management


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or other comparable area; consider non-degreed candidates with significant and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated work ethics that operates with flexibility and approaches opportunities with an open mind, an orientation towards results, a solid business perspective and a sense of urgency.
  • High degree of discretion and integrity
  • Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a multi-functional team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must understand ERP applications and possess the ability to data mine to complete analysis and reconcile issues.
  • Understanding of supply chain scheduling and inventory management concepts and processes.
  • High-energy, self-motivated and responsible, with mature judgment and a drive to succeed.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Salary of $80,000 to $90,000 DOE
