Director of Facilities

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking aDirector of Facilities.The Director of Facilities willberesponsibleforoverseeingfacilities maintenance operations,trainingand leadership necessary to achieve statedobjectivesfor resort and convention center maintenance, repairs, costs, guest service satisfaction, and safety.Maintain operation and physical appearance of the resort to assure the comfort of guests and quality working conditions for associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Maintenance and Upkeep.Ensuring all buildings, grounds, amenities, and equipment are well-maintained and safe for guest use. This involves regular inspections, repairs, and managing maintenance staff.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management.Managing the budget for facilities maintenance and operation, ensuring cost-effective solutions for repairs, upgrades, and services without compromising quality.
  • Guest Experience Management.Overseeing the delivery of beyond-expectations guest experiences related to the resort, amenities, and facilities.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management.Coordinating with external vendors for specialized services, equipment, and supplies needed tomaintainresort facilities, including negotiating contracts and ensuringtimelyservice.
  • Collaborate with other departments and staff management.Workedclosely indifferent departments like marketing,operationsand guest services to ensure seamless guest experience and maximize the resorts potential. Supervising and training the facilities management team, including maintenance staff, housekeeping, and other support personnel. Ensuring staff adheres to resort standards and is responsive to guest needs.

WhatWereLooking For

  • 5+ years field experience workinghands-onat a large operation in a maintenance role
  • 7+ years of leading a team(s) in a Manager/Director role
  • Must be an empathetic leaderwhoempowers their team to outperform themselves daily
  • Pre-opening experience of a large operation
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • 5+ years of Capital management and budgeting experience
  • Strategic preventive maintenance management experience (HotSOS/Mobaroor similar)
  • 5+ years ofCentral Planthands-onexperience and or management oversight of Central Plant operations
  • Strategic mind set leading a team(s) through challenging operational and troubleshooting scenarios
  • Proficient with managing vendor partnerships, contracts,and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Must be driven and passionate about Facilities maintenance and operations
  • Available 24/7 as needed and able to work weekends/evenings/overnights to satisfy the business demands
