StoneAge is seeking a DoD Sales Engineer to drive growth in our government contracts within the waterblast industry. This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, military contractors, and procurement offices while providing technical expertise and custom solutions tailored to their needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with DoD contracts, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and the federal procurement process.
As the primary contact for DoD customers, you will ensure their needs are met, assist them in optimizing their cleaning applications, and provide technical insights that support their operational goals. This position requires a strong understanding of high-pressure waterblast tooling, automated systems, and the ability to navigate government procurement processes effectively.
This role collaborates closely with the StoneAge Solutions Engineering Team, Regional Sales Managers, and Operations Team and reports to the Director of StoneAge Solutions.

Primary Responsibilities
DoD Account Management & Business Development
- Develop and manage relationships with key DoD agencies, military bases, and defense contractors to drive sales growth.
- Serve as the primary contact for DoD clients, addressing requests, technical inquiries, and procurement requirements.
- Identify and pursue new DoD contract opportunities, leveraging industry knowledge and strategic networking.
- Maintain awareness of government procurement cycles, funding availability, and upcoming RFP opportunities.
Sales Engineering & Technical Expertise
- Provide technical support and product demonstrations tailored to military and government applications.
- Work with clients to define application requirements and communicate those to the StoneAge Solutions engineering team for product customization.
- Act as a technical advisor for government customers, ensuring compliance with military specifications and industry standards.
- Assist in developing bid strategies and technical proposals for DoD contracts.
Government Contracts & RFP Management
- Navigate the DoD procurement process, including responding to RFPs, RFQs, and working with contracting officers.
- Assist in drafting and submitting proposals that align with government regulations and acquisition strategies.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
Sales Tracking & Reporting
- Track key DoD sales metrics, including contract awards, revenue growth, and pipeline development.
- Report on account status, technical solutions provided, and upcoming opportunities to senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, technical solutions, and sales activities in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
Team Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations to deliver seamless service to DoD clients.
- Partner with the Director of StoneAge Solutions to develop targeted strategies for government sales growth.
- Represent StoneAge at military trade shows, conferences, and procurement events to expand our presence in the defense sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DoD sales, government contracting, or federal procurement.
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, FAR/DFARS regulations, and government contract vehicles.
- Experience responding to and managing RFPs, RFQs, and government bids.
- Technical knowledge of high-pressure waterblast tooling and automated cleaning systems is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing government accounts and achieving sales targets.
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with DoD clients and attend industry events.
