SightLine Applications LLC is the leader in onboard video processing. SightLine is looking for a talented engineer to join our customer support team. SightLine is an agile, innovative company developing onboard video processing systems for the autonomous vehicle industry (UAV, drone, robot, etc.). We are looking for someone enthusiastic about making a significant contribution.
Purpose of Position
Based in the Portland office, this role involves collaborating with our business development, sales, and engineering teams to provide comprehensive technical support to SightLine customers. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, can patiently troubleshoot new configurations, and is eager to solve problems.

Salary and Benefits
Estimated salary range for this position is $95K to $125K annually, depending on experience.
We are open to hiring candidates with varying levels of experience. The estimated salary band will be adjusted based on the candidate's experience and expertise.
Compensation includes salary, 11 paid holidays, PTO (20 days earned over the first year), health insurance (100% SightLine covered for HDHP with HSA), dental, vision, life/disability, 401K match, incentive plan, SightLine paid OR PFMLI coverage, schedule flexibility, parental leave, and education reimbursement.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Provide direct technical support to customers via email, telephone, and virtual meetings (10-20% travel).
- Debug software independently and in collaboration with customers via email, telephone, MS Teams, and TeamViewer (typically C++ and Python).
- Quickly understand customer needs to provide timely and accurate technical responses.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of SightLine products and train customers on product use for successful customer integration.
- In partnership with our QA team, conduct software and hardware testing for new product releases, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
- Identify patterns, share insights from customer interactions, and distribute feedback to internal teams to support continuous product improvements.
- Create and maintain support material that includes technical documentation, FAQs, videos, etc.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (preferred computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics, or other relevant degree).
- 4+ years of technical support, technical sales, or applications engineering, specifically in roles that involve working directly with customers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
- Proficient in methodical troubleshooting, documenting issues, and providing thorough solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and willing to learn new skills.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
Beneficial Experience (preferred, not required)
- Networking knowledge and experience with Ethernet, routers, switches, TCP, UDP, and DHCP.
- Project management experience.
- Familiarity with circuit board schematics.
- Experience in technical sales, computer vision, UAVs, aerospace, advanced camera systems, avionics, etc.
- Experience with C/C++
- Strong debugging and performance analysis skills.
- Experience with international business.
