ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Marketing Communication Specialist, you will create content that aligns with strategic communication objectives for multichannel marketing campaigns. You will also enhance and optimize copy materials while collaborating with designers and category team members. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who can push a brand's boundaries through compelling copywriting. This person is detail-oriented, passionate, process-driven, and collaborative.

You are someone who will be:

  • Producing content that supports strategic communication goals for various marketing channels both offline and online.
  • Improving and optimizing existing copy materials.
  • Executing strong, engaging marketing writing that aligns with strategic inputs and is highly relevant to the audience.
  • Participating in and initiating content review sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Assisting in writing strong briefs that align with brand objectives.
  • Assessing data & analytics to drive strong messaging.
  • Communicating actively with the project team to keep deliverables on track and on schedule.
  • Participating in creative brainstorming sessions.
  • Coordinating approvals and deployment for assigned projects.
  • Acting as guardian of content and the recorder of all copy changes throughout the creative process.
  • Contributing to the establishment, enforcement, and evolution of copywriting best practices at the organization.


Let's talk about what you bring.

  • A degree from a college or university in English, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant brand support experience.
  • Experience in a creative agency background.
  • Exhibits a high level of creative and problem-solving skills within the parameters of a highly regulated industry.
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a creative agency or brand department of a large marketing organization is an asset.
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze problems, anticipate consequences, and eliminate obstacles to successfully complete projects.
  • Fluent in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale.
  • Strong organization and ability to multi-task.
  • Must have a portfolio of content samples.
  • Background in tobacco, cannabis, or alcohol is an asset.

For this position, the salary range starts at $ 82,450 based on the level of experience.
