Role:
The Manager, Data Insights, leads a team of Report Developers who focus on high-quality user-facing reports, visualizations, and analytics. They must have a firm understanding in human-machine interactions, user interface design concepts, and the ability to design their work in such a way that it is the most efficient, easy to use, easy to understand presentation for end users to consume quickly and easily.
This role will lead, supervise, mentor, and guide Developers. The incumbent must have extensive experience building reports and visualizations and can communicate this knowledge to their team so they can grow and can achieve team goals. The incumbent participates in cross-functional dialog with other departments, including a close relationship with the other Analytics teams who provide the data needed to create insights.
The Manager, Data Insights is a part of the Analytics leadership team and expected to advise and contribute to the development and direction of the department.

Role Responsibilities:
- Manages projects: new and/or change requests. Coordinates team resources, workflows, and deadlines.
- Manages team of developers across multiple countries.
- Oversees the development and ownership of all reporting, maintenance, and security of reporting platforms (currently Tableau, Cognos, and Power BI).
- Drives the business towards interactive, proactive exception-based dashboards with less passive analytics.
- Performs quality assurance actions on data, ensuring extreme levels of accuracy and consistency.
- Utilizes own reporting to glean insights. Works with Analytics Leadership team on developing guidance and advice to the business.
- Collaborates with Global Support Centre functional expert teams; serves as liaison between key stakeholders.
- Reports and leads discussion concerning regular process tracking, standardized SOPs, team and executive dashboards.
- Assists, fills in, backs up, and supports Business Services as needed.
- Communicates broadly and frequently the company's vision, direction, goals, performance against plan, changes, and expectations through participation in department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and informal conversations with associates.
- Develops and supports high performing talent through hiring, scheduling, performance coaching, and career management practices
- Facilitates establishment of clear performance goals; ensures that performance goals adapt to changing business demands; identifies and manages non-performers in a fair and timely way; identifies and rewards top performance; links pay and performance through base, incentive, and recognition programs.
- Presents oneself in a manner that demonstrates executive maturity, professionalism, trust, confidence, and integrity.
- Communicates broadly and frequently the company's vision, direction, goals, performance against plan, changes, and expectations through participation in department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and informal conversations with associates
- Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- Minimum five (5+) years of experience working with data, analytics and report development.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, information systems, visual design or related field required.
- Extensive experience developing with Tableau. Experience with Cognos Analytics an asset.
- Expert knowledge in interacting with relational database management (RDBM) systems (MSSQL) and writing SQL.
- Experience with Jira or similar project management software.
- Experience achieving goals through others; leading and motivating a team.
- Solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports & deriving insights from data.
- Strong ability to conduct research, analysis of information/data, and present findings in a concise format.
- Strong communication and presentation skills when working with high-level internal stakeholders.
- High degree of trust handling confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives at the same time.
- The incumbent must be forward thinking, looking ahead at emerging business needs and can suggest improvements and modifications to meet those needs before they arrive.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
