Summary:
The Electrical/Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and technical documentation of hardware designs within a Life Safety organization. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure alignment with design methodology, best practices, and project objectives.

Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams, focusing on design reuse and efficient project execution.
  • Work closely with firmware and mechanical engineering teams to ensure alignment and seamless integration.
  • Adhere to best practices for requirements and data management, schematics, layout, design for manufacturing, design for testing, and regulatory standards.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation using digital tools such as Jira, Jama, Confluence, etc.
  • Analyze and explore alternative solutions to address complex technical challenges.

Electronics Verification and Testing:
  • Develop and implement hardware test strategies, plans, and procedures.
  • Support hardware verification activities, including specification reviews, design reviews, schematics/layout reviews, integration tests, environmental testing, ad hoc debugging, and hardware/firmware interface debugging.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to write and execute hardware tests while ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards.
  • Observe existing processes and suggest improvements where necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of electronics design experience.

Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems, emergency communication devices, and related protocols is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
