About the role

The Food Science and Commercialization team focuses on continuous improvement of products, processes and commercial readiness within Wonder. This team works cross functionally to improve design and test process flows, process design and implementation, develop work and control plans, time motion solutions, and planogram and schematic optimization. Our goal is to keep the business needs at the forefront by finding solutions for workflow, space requirements, layouts, and provide the research and development teams with guides and guard rails. The role requires out of the box thinking, has a keen eye for detail, data driven decision making, strong project management skills, and exceptional analytical skills to dissect complex problems and devise effective solutions. The ability to conduct rigorous data analysis, and the application of statistical methods to understand process variations and optimize performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Process Validation & Optimization:
Conduct time and motion studies to assess and optimize the efficiency of kitchen workflows.
Perform time and temperature studies to ensure food quality and consistency in preparation.
Conduct throughput studies to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
Analyze existing processes and suggest new methods for streamlining operations without compromising quality.

2. Evaluation of New Kitchen Equipment:
Assess and evaluate potential new kitchen appliances, including new cooking, preparation, and holding technologies.
Perform cost-benefit analysis for new equipment to determine return on investment and operational impact.
Collaborate with culinary and operational teams to test and implement new equipment, ensuring smooth integration into existing processes.

3. Implementation of New Processes:
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new processes or systems introduced into the kitchen.
Monitor the success of implemented changes and continuously assess their effectiveness.

4. Continuous Process Improvement:
Identify areas for continuous process improvement through data analysis, customer feedback, and employee input.
Lead cross-functional teams to implement improvements that enhance both operational productivity and the customer experience.
Utilize lean principles, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to optimize restaurant operations and reduce waste.

5. Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with kitchen staff, management, and other departments to implement solutions that align with business goals.
Provide regular reports to management on process performance, recommendations for improvements, and progress on ongoing projects.
Collaborate with the operations and finance teams to assess cost implications of changes and ensure budget adherence.

The experience you have :

Bachelors degree focused in process engineering
Model building and Simulations of scenarios
Strong knowledge of time and motion studies, Time and Temperature Studies, process mapping, and throughput analysis.
The ability to persuade others to change existing practices and provide supporting documentation and testing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems
Solve problems and make decisions informed by data, insights, and good judgement
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus.

Compensation: $174,000
