Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) utilizes the Synergy Model to operate within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres. This role facilitates a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to healthcare provision within a specialty area. The CNS is responsible for promoting excellence in nursing care by implementing clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members. The position requires a strong knowledge base and clinical expertise, functioning as a clinical resource, conducting and facilitating patient care consultations, and providing resources to assess the impact of appropriate practices on patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by a recognized accrediting body.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license upon hire.
• National Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Current certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the area of specialty upon hire.
• Current certification in area of specialty (e.g., Certified Emergency Nurse [CEN], Critical Care Registered Nurse [CCRN]) upon hire.
• 3 years of Registered Nursing experience in the area of specialty.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification in the area of specialty upon hire.
