Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical Informatics is responsible for developing and executing clinical workflows related to the functionality and optimization of the electronic medical record (EMR) and other clinical technology applications. This individual will collaborate with clinical education, IT, nursing, ancillary/support departments, and medical groups to define and implement short- and long-term goals that support the organization's mission. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team of clinical informaticists and trainers, focusing on advancing technology, improving workflows, and providing education and support to clinicians. They will also oversee the planning, development, and adoption of patient engagement and clinical information technologies to drive organizational goals. The Director serves as a liaison between clinical, financial, quality, reporting, medical staff, and technical teams, analyzing clinical workflows and integrating IT into clinical practices to promote efficiency and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, development, management, and adoption of clinical information technologies across the organization to meet strategic goals.
- Develop and evaluate departmental annual budget.
- Manage and mentor direct reports, including overseeing recruitment, training, development, performance reviews, and goal setting.
- Promote best practices in informatics to maximize efficiency and support evidence-based practice.
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide excellent communication and collaboration across teams, promoting problem-solving and innovation.
- Create and execute the development of a robust clinical informatics program.
- Conduct education and training for clinical informatics teams and interdisciplinary staff as needed.
- Develop and implement training plans for new employees and provide ongoing education.
- Collaborate with medical staff and operational teams across the organization to support system-wide initiatives.
- Leverage clinical information systems to enhance organizational consistency, streamline workflows, and promote efficiency.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Informatics
- Current Nursing License
- Epic Certification
Preferred Education & Certifications:
- DNP or PhD in Nursing, Informatics, or a related field
- ANCC Nursing Informatics or CPHIMS certification
Required Experience:
- 6 years of clinical nursing, education, or informatics experience
