Position Summary:
We are seeking an Associate or Senior Planner to join our growing Planning and GIS Team. This position leads the production of technical reports, presentation materials, and other planning-related deliverables for various clients. The Planner will work closely with the Planning Manager and be part of a dynamic team focused on community and economic development. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the production of presentation materials, technical reports, and project deliverables for planning projects such as master plans and updates, neighborhood plans, etc.
  • Develop and lead community engagement activities
  • Lead data collection and analysis efforts
  • Manage project budgets
  • Develop strategies to promote economic and community development, improve land use efficiency, address housing challenges, and advance community initiatives
  • Collaborate with municipalities, developers, architects, landscape architects, engineers, contractors, and community organizations
  • Interpret and apply applicable local, state, and county codes, ordinances, and regulations
  • Assist in preparing proposals and fee estimates for potential projects
  • Supervise junior staff
  • Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, public meetings, and within the community.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years of planning experience, 6 years for Senior Planner role
  • Degree in urban or regional planning, urban studies, urban design, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, geography, or related field
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
  • Knowledge of planning methodology, principles, and practices, including research and data collection
  • Familiarity with municipal planning and zoning administrator activities
  • Knowledge of development processes, real estate finance, incentives, and other public approvals (preferred)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu.
