Company: Tesla, Inc

Location: Fremont, CA 94536

Description:

The Procurement Efficiency Analytics team at Tesla focuses on driving operational excellence and cost savings across Tesla's service parts supply chain. Tesla is a fast-paced, action-biased environment where speed often creates imperfect or incomplete data. We are a collaborative team that partners closely with procurement, supply chain, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, supplier efficiency, and resource planning.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join the team as a peer, someone who thrives in fast-changing environments, can see through the noise of dirty data, and takes ownership of improving processes and data quality. This person will play a key role in both uncovering inefficient processes that lead to data gaps and helping drive corrective actions while cleaning and structuring data in the interim.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance advanced dashboards and reporting tools using Tableau to track procurement efficiency, operational excellence, and enhance customer experience
  • Design and implement ETL processes leveraging Python, focusing on efficient query design and low computational complexity. Utilize GitHub for workflow management and CI/CD, and implement ETL pipelines using Airflow
  • Proven expertise in SQL for complex data extraction, manipulation, and optimizing query performance using technologies such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and Vertica
  • Identify and investigate data integrity issues caused by rapid decision-making and operational inefficiencies, partnering with business stakeholders to drive corrective actions
  • Clean, organize, and structure incomplete or inconsistent data to ensure reliable reporting while simultaneously working to address upstream process gaps
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Service Operations, Indirect Purchasing, Supply Chain, Software Engineering, and the Service Parts Operations team to drive data-informed strategies and support business-critical initiatives
  • Present findings in a way that makes the implicit explicit, providing not only data but deep insights and actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • A self-starter with a collaborative mindset who brings a sense of humility and is always ready to learn, no matter how advanced their skills

Requirements
  • Degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a technical field, or equivalent experience with strong data analysis skills
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence, preferably in supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing
  • Advanced skills in Tableau or similar data visualization tools for dashboard development
  • Previous experience in supply chain management for service parts or related industries, focusing on monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the business aspects of delivering parts to customers and third-party businesses
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, cloud-based platforms, and GitHub
