Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Construction Manager to lead a high-impact capital project at our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of all electrical and instrumentation (E&I) construction activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project stakeholders (engineering, procurement, quality, etc.) to develop and refine E&I project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructability insights and ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
- Supervise electrical and instrumentation teams (contractors, subcontractors, and internal staff) to ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Oversee installation of electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation devices, and related infrastructure, ensuring quality and compliance with design documents.
- Verify that all E&I installations meet pharmaceutical industry standards, cGMP requirements, and local/federal regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and other relevant safety and quality guidelines.
- Implement and enforce site-specific EHS protocols, coordinating with safety officers to conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments.
- Address potential hazards proactively and ensure that proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.
- Monitor and manage construction budgets, preparing cost reports and forecasting for E&I scope.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining project quality and schedule.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all E&I construction activities, including daily logs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
- Provide regular updates to project leadership on progress, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years managing electrical and instrumentation projects in pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated environments.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, control loops, and low/high voltage installations.
- Familiarity with HVAC control systems is a plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of cGMP, OSHA, NEC, and relevant safety and environmental standards.
- Project Management:
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and experience coordinating multiple contractors.
- Communication & Language Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish (highly preferred).

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Must possess a valid electrician expert (perito electricista) license.

- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, resolve complex technical issues, and drive projects to completion on time and within budget.
