What you will be doing

Albertsons Companies' Information Technology Department team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Google Ad Manager (GAM) Technical Lead who will work directly with the Albertsons Technology Team, collaborating with product teams and other stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and guide the team in implementing these solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Prior experience in retail advertising is highly desired.

The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or Plano, TX location.

Main responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions for retail media-specific display advertising campaigns using Google Ad Manager (GAM).


  • Build responsive and high-performance user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern UI frameworks like React or Angular.


  • Develop and maintain advertising technologies, including programmatic display ads and audience targeting strategies.


  • Debug and troubleshoot frontend and ad-serving issues to ensure seamless ad delivery.


  • Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements.


  • Align technical solutions with business goals through collaboration with engineering, marketing, and analytics teams.


  • Guide and mentor the team in effectively implementing ad solutions.


  • Analyze and optimize ad performance to meet or exceed targets.


  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital advertising and GAM.


  • Provide training and support to team members on GAM best practices and techniques.


  • Use the Agile SCRUM model to deliver solutions with high flexibility and adaptability.

The salary range is $ 157,900 to $ 205,300 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for

  • 4-year degree (Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field).


  • 5 years of experience in providing subject matter expertise for Google Ad Manager.


  • 6+ years overall programming experience (JavaScript, HTML, Web Services).


  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in digital advertising, media planning, or a related field.


  • Expertise in debugging tools (Chrome DevTools, Charles Proxy etc) and methodologies


  • Familiarity with Google Ad Manager features like creative targeting and ad optimization features using waterfall setups.


  • Experience with other ad servers is highly desired.


  • Strong technical background with experience in implementing ad solutions.


  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.


  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Proficient in using various digital advertising tools and platforms


  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.


  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.


  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.


  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.


  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
