POSITION SUMMARY
Department: Sheriff
Classification:Grade 12 (ICEA)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Officials & Administrators
Position Description: Responsible for the overall operation and administration of the county jail (a class III facility), in compliance with Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) 2911.0900 and all local, state, and federal statutes. Responsible for the federal guidelines of the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Maintain and oversee the jail budget. Oversee all contract employees and vendors.

Work Hours: Non-Exempt Employees: The normal hours of work shall be eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week during normal office hours, subject to the Department Head's discretion to schedule hours of work as deemed necessary by the Department Head.
Work Location: Itasca County Sheriff's Department, 108 NE 5th St, Grand Rapids, MN and County-wide on projects.
