Position Profile
Reporting to the Finance Lead, the Financial Controller will provide leadership, management, and oversight to ensure Earnscliffe has strong financial controls and processes in place, while supporting the firm's long-term strategic objectives.
The Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring compliance with all finance-related policies and procedures, overseeing the financial management system, and driving its continuous improvement to align with the firm's growth.

Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and other financial documentation as required by senior management, the board of directors and other key stakeholders.
- Payroll: Manage and oversee payroll processing across multiple provinces, ensuring compliance with regional tax regulations and company policies.
- Invoicing & Receivables: Oversee invoicing and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections and cash-flow management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting, including the preparation and management of Service line budgets. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance.
- Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and financial reporting standards. Maintain systems, processes, and compliance requirements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Systems Improvement: Continuously assess and improve financial systems, processes, and policies to increase efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with the Finance Lead and Leadership Team to develop and implement financial infrastructure systems designed to enable strategic growth objectives.

- Contribute to internal initiatives in support of the management of the business.
- Meet performance standards as defined by the Performance management program, ensuring consistently meeting or exceeding targets established.
Qualifications
- Recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA) mandatory; a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in a similar role with in-house financial management experience, including multi-provincial payroll administration, gained in a high-growth organization.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency and experience with accounting software (specifically experience in Sage 300 and Quickbooks Online)
- Experience with a CRM, such as Salesforce, is an asset.
- Stellar reputation for integrity and ethical conduct.
- Strong judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong team leadership skills and demonstrated initiative and responsiveness.
- Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
