What You'll Do
The Wireless Network Consulting Engineer/Architect supports Enterprise WLAN and/or Service Provider Wi-Fi accounts. This is a critical customer-facing role. Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts.
Other Cisco engineers to provides flexible and innovative ways to help meet customer needs while improving profitability for Customer Sucess (CX) delivery teams. Cisco's highly technical global resources support customer engagements in all theaters acting as a seamless delivery partner to CX practice and theater teams.
The CX Architecture team focusses on WI-FI solutions and technologies to help customers Plan, build, deploy and migrate networks. We need a creative problem solver, comfortable with challenging the status quo and rapidly responding to customers' demands to deploy and support Cisco's latest technologies and products. With a seasoned mix of broad networking knowledge and specific area expertise, you're well positioned to become a trusted advisor, capable of building solid, long-term relationships with customers. You will be expected to continuously enhance your skills and expertise to lead the technology/solution

Understanding of the ISE product line as it pertains to WI-FI deployments. .

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. U.S. employees have to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings.
Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco's flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco's Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
The Wireless Network Consulting Engineer/Architect supports Enterprise WLAN and/or Service Provider Wi-Fi accounts. This is a critical customer-facing role. Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco's major accounts.
- Perform architectural planning and design, as well as configuration and integration support within project delivery and ongoing consultative engagements.
- Provide operational support for complex, wireless network deployments. Identify & document design/architecture best practices for global Cisco Services adoption.
- Participate in or lead complex network design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects.
- Assist in development of business and technical requirement
- Assist in the development of high-level and low-level design activities
- Assist in the development of network implementation planning
- Assist in configuration and connectivity activities, including test planning and cutover activities
- Recommends and initiates projects to benefit customers and Customer Experience, CX, wide objectives.
- Accountable to highest levels of senior management to ensure project commitments and CX deliverables are met.

Who You Are
Our minimum qualifications include:
- Strong knowledge and expertise Cisco WI-FI portfolio, 9800 Wireless Controllers, APs, Cisco Spaces, BLE, and Catalyst Center. Mesh experience a plus.
Background in Mesh and outdoor a plus
Technologies : LAN Switching, Layer 2 troubleshooting
Understanding of the ISE product line as it pertains to WI-FI deployments. .
- Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting and/or Network solution designing of Cisco WI-FI solutions.
- Hands-on and troubleshooting on any of the below third party products would be highly preferred:
Aruba
Huawei
Ericsson
- Prior experience of conducting customer workshops, High level and low level network design experience would be preferred.
- Scripting knowledge on Python, Pearl would be highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and Cisco customers.
- Strong consulting & client-facing skills to include cross-functional influence, external and internal consulting/partnering.
- Requires BS/BE/B.Tech degree or equivalent plus 8+ years of related experience in IT industry
- Certifications Preferred - CCIE ( Preferred ), CCIP, CCNA, CCNP ( Plus )
- Passionate, persuasive, charismatic thought leader capable of quickly establishing executive interest in Cisco services by articulating the value and business advantage of Cisco's network migration services.
- A self-driven individual with the curiosity to learn, work in a fast paced changing environment, evolve continuously to keep pace with the Cisco's solutions, technologies and industry trends, be an inspiration and trend setters for others.
