Senior Developer

CommuniCare Advantage is currently recruiting a Senior Developer whose programming knowledge, skills, and experience will streamline and enhance the operations of our Medicare Advantage health plan.

This can be a hybrid or fully remote position.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT

The Senior Developer will be responsible for the maintaining current AI/ Machine Learning initiative. Will lead projects to improve the usability, scalability, efficiency, and security of AI tools. Will lead the analysis of data discrepancies and validation.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain custom coded modules for processing healthcare data from various sources
• Implement and refine algorithms for patient assessment and care categorization
• Work with healthcare domain experts to ensure accurate implementation of clinical guidelines and regulations
• Design and optimize data storage solutions using SQL databases
• Implement efficient data processing pipelines for nightly batch jobs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data processing modules into larger systems
• Implement robust logging and debugging practices for complex calculations
• Optimize code for performance and scalability
• Contribute to front-end development

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Python development
• Experience with healthcare data processing or similar complex domain-specific applications
• Familiarity with logging best practices and debugging complex systems
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., SQLAlchemy)
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Experience with VueJS or another front-end framework

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Excellent customer service skills with ability to work with multiple stake holders.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
• Attention to detail.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases
• Experience with some of the modern relational databases.
• Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
• Python and other programing languages
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
• Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Must have high ethical standards and treat prospective enrollees with respect and dignity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays, when necessary.
• Is subject to frequent interruptions.
• Time sensitive tasks and responses
• May require field-based work. May require occasional overnight travel will be required as times with field-based assignments.
