The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective communications programs throughout all aspects of Casey's with the goal of supporting priority business objectives, Fiscal Year Communication Plans, reinforcing the Company's purpose and brand to improve team member engagement and company reputation.

In this role, you will lead the editorial planning, content development, and production of communications efforts focused on Casey's culture and community news. This will include heavy involvement in team member town halls, Casey's Commitment Conference (C3) and community engagement PR/communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hiring, training, salary administration, performance management, coaching and corrective actions for direct reports. Responsible for collaborating with team members on career development and goal setting. Acts as a champion of a committed and empowering culture, working with direct reports and team members on modeling Casey's values.
  • Lead communications strategy for Casey's culture and community news. Develop wholistic communications plans and materials in these areas in partnership with agency and team - from strategy to content to media relations to team member comms.
  • Plan, edit and produce content for a variety of communications channels and publications including presentations, intranet, email, videos, graphics, digital signage, etc. by working collaboratively with partners such as agencies or internal design resources.
  • Work with Director and PR Events Manager on C3 conference communications, scripts, video content, and content capture.
  • Work closely with the Director to receive guidance on sponsorship planning and programming. Delegate tasks to the Specialist and oversee their work to ensure the successful execution of sponsorship initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner and resource to key teams, providing themtemplates and communications guidance, including Human Resources and Store Operations.
  • Monitor, measure, analyze and report on overall effectiveness while continuouslyidentifying ways to optimize channels based on performance and industry trends.
  • Assist on other communications areas, events and other related duties as assigned.

Compensation:

Starting pay range: $84,900 - $111,400. Actual pay may vary based on Casey's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations (PR), Journalism, Communications or relatedfield required.
  • At least five years of professional experience in communications or PR.
  • Previous experience with internal communications, media/publication, andcontent creation highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint, andExcel. Design program experience, including video editing a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment whilemaintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability tosource stories from team members.
  • Vision and imagination to create compelling communications that effectivelyengage key audiences, including an eye and understanding for design, digital and video-based productions.
  • Ability to provide counsel to teams to ensure successful outcomes for a variety oftopics, including serving as a trusted partner with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and collaborative.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of team members and leaders in cross-functionalroles to ensure successful outcomes.
