Job Description:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an expert clinician who practices in a specialty area with expertise in teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management, and systems improvement. The CNS influences outcomes by providing expert consultation to all care providers and implementing improvements in healthcare delivery systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by a recognized body or
• Ph.D. from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by a recognized body or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or
• Currently enrolled in a Master's, DNP, or Ph.D. clinical nurse specialist program accredited by a recognized body or
• Equivalent coursework and experience will be considered (Example: Master's in nursing or Doctoral degree in Nursing not specifically in the CNS role, such as Nursing Administration or Nursing Education)
• 3 years of registered nursing experience in the area of specialty.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current certification as a CNS
• Current certification in the area of specialty
• 2 years of clinical leadership responsibility
