As a Senior Manager, Business Transformation:
You will report to the VP, Transformation, and play a pivotal role in supporting the development and advancement of key initiatives and programs to modernize and transform our distribution strategy and network by supporting key focuses including:
The position will support the VP, Transformation, team partners and Senior business leaders in key activities related to program and roadmap development, implementation, and execution. This includes research and analysis, problem and opportunity identification, solution option design, business casing, planning and strategic program delivery. In addition, the position will act as a key resource to help develop executive and board-level communications and business plans, where required.
Working closely with Senior leaders across the enterprise the Senior Manager will have a pulse on various initiatives planned and in-flight as well as industry trends, in order effectively inform stakeholder engagement, sequencing and prioritization of retail-wealth distribution activities and change management plans.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Transformation will be the Sr. Business Transformation Consultant. The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the initiatives of the Sr. Business Transformation Consultant, guiding their contributions to various work products and their on-going growth and development. The Senior Manager will also act as a leader for business and cross-functional partners involved in the planning and delivery of key initiatives.

The Senior Manager will also act as a leader for business and cross-functional partners involved in the planning and delivery of key initiatives.
What you will do:
Program and Initiative Development and Business Casing
- Collaborate with the VP, Transformation, Transformation team, Senior Line of Business Leadership team, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) Strategy and other organizational stakeholders to assist in the ongoing refinement of the retail-wealth vision and the development and delivery of transformational programs for distribution teams.
- Assist in translating ambiguous strategic issues into clearly defined problem statements, leveraging primary and secondary research (e.g. qualitative- interviews, market scans, competitor benchmarking and quantitative- financial analysis, market sizing) to identify root causes, opportunities and solution paths that guide decisions made by Senior leadership.
- Assist in communicating findings and recommendations succinctly in a logical and coherent storyline that facilitates productive discussion around the business case and decision making among senior executives.
- Decompose business goals to identify opportunities and an establish roadmap centered around defining short, medium and long-term objectives.
- Actively build and maintain awareness of market trends and developments through various sources (e.g., secondary research, competitor actions, industry developments), curate information into relevant insights and patterns to consider as part of Meridian's strategic decisions.
- Bring new perspectives, creative ideas, and practical approaches to problems and issues, support business leadership in obtaining buy-in from senior executives and other enterprise stakeholders.
- Proactively maintain relationships with stakeholders across lines of business and within corporate functions, to maintain an understanding of new developments in their areas and identify needs for strategy support.
- Identify Line of Business efficiency and integration opportunities through internal and external research.
- Ensure identification and development of key performance indicators prior to launching programs and initiatives and timely reporting.
- Participate in other ad-hoc strategic analysis and business casing requests across Retail and Wealth from the SVP Retail & Wealth, & COO.
- Oversee large business, enterprise or Meridian For Good (MFG) strategies and projects that impacting Retail or Wealth, along with other Transformation team colleagues.
Program and Initiative Delivery
- Assist in defining initiative/program scope and approaches while developing plans for transformation initiative delivery under various ways of working (i.e. agile/scrum); where required complete necessary intake forms or other documentation required by Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).
- Develop and lead facilitation of working sessions that both assist in program development and collaborative solutioning and execution. Work with partners to determine required business and technology capabilities along with the resources to support delivery
- Execute initiatives plans and lead work streams across relevant lines of business working with Sales, Sales Support, Product and functional stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, often where no dedicated PM is assigned
- Manage key metrics, revenues and costs applying a test and learn approach to optimize performance and ROI for journeys, experiences and feature enhancements
- Adapt, iterate and reprioritize as necessary to meet program objectives and outcomes while ensuring timely delivery and achievable scope.
- Engage regional and functional leaders and front-line staff in an open and collaborative way; playing lead role in helping to support change management and communication.
- Act as a key business contact/liaison to support program progress for EPMO teams while acting as a key point-person providing answers to questions about assigned programs.
Business Planning, Reporting and Support
- Prepare and present both formal and informal updates on analysis/recommendations for senior leadership and facilitate discussions on findings and next steps, including implementing recommendations as appropriate.
- Partner closely with the EPMO and Strategy team to assist in communicating the progress of various strategic initiatives and the positioning of regular communications to internal/external audiences.
- Along with the VP, Transformation, develop and prepare executive presentation materials, performance reports, and ad hoc requests including crafting research, analysis, conclusions, and facilitating associated actions; engaging and collaborating with stakeholders as required.
- Support the annual business and project planning process working with wealth leadership, EPMO and strategy partners, and support functions (e.g. Finance, HR, 3rd party dealer) to build out annual business objectives (financial and non-financial), new initiative requirements and roadmaps considering the current enterprise context.
- Identify implications of various strategic decisions, ongoing initiatives, internal/external trends to the business and roadmap and proactively communicate/share with appropriate stakeholders.
How you will succeed:
- Minimum 5 years of prior transformation development and delivery experience or management consulting experience, solving complex business problems through well-defined and collaborative process frameworks
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience within a Financial Services firm with a well-developed understanding of front-line branch advisor and client experiences, back-office supporting operations and IT/Digital processes and disciplines.
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen with an aptitude for strategic, critical thinking and problem solving while consuming significant amounts of internal and external data.
- Creative thinker, passionate about driving a leading Member and advisor experience, advancing the financial confidence of all Ontarians and remaining current on industry and investor trends
- Superior communication skills written and verbal - proven ability to effectively build and tell a compelling story to influence decision making and engagement around an identified problem that is supported by robust data and analysis for audiences at all levels of an organization.
- Highly organized and professional, with attentive to detail and ability to be concise without compromising facts.
- Proven initiative/program planning and management experience with strong interpersonal and organization skills to effectively mobilize, lead and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams to attain outcomes.
- Adept at planning, organizing, and facilitating various workshop activities and meetings to support stakeholder research and feedback.
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal to communicate and present to positions of all levels within organization.
- Resourceful and rapid learner, able to learn and speak to many topics.
- Results-oriented with an ability to multi-task in dynamic environment, manage time properly, prioritize multiple initiatives and develop solutions where ambiguity exists.
- University degree, with graduate business degree considered an asset.
- Additional certifications in change management, project management and business strategy are considered an asset.
- Advanced Power Point and MS Office suite skills.
