Summary:

The purpose of this exciting position is to oversee the planning, integration, and maintenance and support of clinical systems and equipment. This role will influence the culture and perception of specialty clinical solutions to ensure that these tools are integrated for data capture, clinical alerting and assist with feeding vital data to population health studies. You will interact with all levels of the organization in this mission to bring innovative health care to our communities. Scope includes systems and equipment that are used for treatment, diagnosis and documentation outside of the core EMR (Epic). The Director IT role is responsible for oversight of a Biomedical Engineering Team, fleet of applications, equipment, all required maintenance, and break/fix options related to this portfolio of solutions. This is a unique opportunity in healthcare, and we are looking for a dynamic leader who can provide resolutions to unforeseen issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements strategic and departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates operations, including medical device preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives. Mentors' other departmental leaders to achieve similar goals.

Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Mentors' other departmental leaders to achieve similar goals.
Oversees activities and regulatory compliance that spans numerous hospitals and clinics.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
