Overview

Gallagher is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our emerging Internal AI Development team. As part of a small, high-impact group, you will work across every corporate function-finance, sales, legal, marketing, and more-to design, implement, and maintain state-of-the-art AI tools and workflows. From building robust data pipelines to creating secure, real-time Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications, you will be at the forefront of driving organizational transformation through AI and LLM-based solutions.

How you'll make an impact

What You'll Do
  • Architect & Prototype: Propose and prototype agentic LLM-based workflows that address real-world corporate challenges, leveraging the latest advancements in AI.
  • Data Ingestion & Permissions: Design and maintain core data ingestion pipelines and permission systems to facilitate the secure, reliable flow of information throughout various RAG applications.
  • AI Tooling & Automation: Implement new agentic AI tools that streamline cross-departmental processes, enabling teams to accomplish more, faster.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders from all functions of the organization to identify opportunities, scope new use cases, and accelerate innovation.
  • User-Centric Solutions: Deliver intuitive, high-quality frontend and backend solutions that empower Gallagher employees to effortlessly leverage AI in their daily tasks.

Core Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Machine Learning
  • Programming Proficiency: Strong experience with modern programming frameworks and languages used with LLM such as C#, Python and Javascript.
  • Production Experience: Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient production code in a collaborative environment (e.g., Git-based workflows, code reviews).
  • Agentic AI Exposure: Familiarity with designing and implementing agentic AI solutions or workflows, especially those leveraging LLMs.
  • API & RESTful Services: Solid background in API development, RESTful services, and microservices architecture. Experience in the Azure cloud infrastructure a plus.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical partners and stakeholders.

About You

  • RAG Experience: Hands-on experience designing and deploying retrieval-augmented generation solutions, including data ingestion, indexing, and context management.
  • Production LLM Workflows: 0.5+ years of experience implementing and maintaining agentic LLM workflows in a production environment.
  • Enterprise Tooling: Experience with enterprise identity and access management (IAM) solutions, cloud deployment, and DevOps best practices.
  • Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay on top of the latest trends and breakthroughs in AI, including advanced language modeling, reinforcement learning, and LLMOps.
