Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Revenue Cycle Implementations to lead the execution of revenue cycle initiatives and implementations. This role will be responsible for optimizing revenue cycle processes, managing key revenue cycle projects, and ensuring successful system implementations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue cycle management, project management, and healthcare technology, particularly within Athena.

The Director will work cross-functionally with internal teams, external clients, payers, and vendors to drive efficiencies and improve revenue cycle operations. This position requires strong leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a proactive approach to managing revenue cycle performance.

Accountabilities
  • Leads and manages a small team focused on all Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) implementations, including new practice management configurations, payer/plan changes, new location launches, and service line expansions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Athena and other PM systems, ensuring optimal configuration and functionality for revenue cycle operations.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve efficiency, and implement best practices across the revenue cycle.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for revenue cycle management, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including finance, operations, IT, and compliance-to support business needs and drive revenue optimization. Is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team of revenue cycle implementation professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and performance management.
  • Conducts regular team meetings to ensure smooth implementation processes, knowledge transfer, and issue resolution.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to ensure proper handoffs and alignment between implementation teams and ongoing RCM operations must have strong customer service experience.
  • Generates and analyzes revenue cycle KPI reports, identifying gaps and recommending strategies for process improvement.
  • Conducts trend analysis to forecast revenue and enhance financial performance.
  • Develops internal audit reports to monitor procedural compliance and revenue integrity.
  • Present findings and revenue cycle forecasts to senior leadership, making data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Attracts high caliber people, accurately assesses strengths and development needs of employees; provides timely, specific feedback and helpful coaching; provides challenging assignments and opportunities for development. Responsible for interviewing, recommending hires, assessing performance, recommending salary changes, and progressive discipline. Enforces adherence to the Catalysts policies.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required in finance, healthcare administration, business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • At least 4 years of experience in revenue cycle management, including direct leadership of revenue cycle teams.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Athena required; experience with other PM systems (e.g., NextGen, eCW) is a plus.
  • Project management experience required; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding within a practice setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% in the first year.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Tableau, Power Bi, Visio.
