License: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited school required

- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing mechanisms and disorders
- Demonstrated skill in applying assessment instruments and operating specialized equipment used in the treatment of communication disorders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic database health records systems
Job Description:
The Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing, consulting, and treating patients with communicative or swallowing disorders. This role is split between clinical settings and educational institutions, providing a broad range of experiences across various school levels.
- Perform assessments to identify communication disorders, determine program eligibility, and develop treatment recommendations
- Establish needs and evaluate treatment programs for patients with possible speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing difficulties
- Document observations, evaluation results, and responses to treatment in medical records according to hospital policy
- Develop treatment plans and interventions to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders
- Conduct speech-language pathology treatments and instruct patients or family members in proper care and exercises
- Evaluate and report patients' progress throughout the planned therapy program
- Provide patient and staff education to ensure understanding of communicative/swallowing conditions and treatment plans
- Communicate scheduling needs with the reception team and participate in departmental meetings
- Assist with program development and community group interaction as indicated
- Contribute to policy and procedure manual writing and departmental quality programs
- Ensure availability and maintenance of equipment, materials, and supplies
- Adapt to changing work priorities and maintain effective working relationships
- Create and maintain precise records and meet deadlines while working with attention to detail
- Perform other duties as assigned
