Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in substation design, construction, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing electrical substations, performing system analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves working closely with project teams, utilities, and contractors to support the development and execution of substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) substation systems, including layout, grounding, protection, and control systems.
  • Perform electrical system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protective relaying coordination.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings such as one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation physical layouts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, NEC, and NERC/FERC regulations.
  • Support the procurement process by preparing technical specifications for transformers, switchgear, breakers, and other substation equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, structural, and mechanical engineers, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and testing of substations.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing substation infrastructure and recommend upgrades or modifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in substation design, engineering, or construction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, or similar engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, relay protection systems, and control schemes.
  • Familiarity with utility grid infrastructure, transmission, and distribution systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification (preferred).
Preferred Experience:
  • Hands-on experience with GIS/AIS substations.
  • Experience working with utilities, EPC firms, or power transmission projects.
  • Understanding of renewable energy integration into substations.
