Job Description
The purpose of this position is to identify, research and develop new technologies and digital solutions, to support HSE modernization and efficiencies towards building a digital capability and innovative approach in pursuit of a safe and healthful workplace for the company.
Identifies emerging applications and systems to automate or improve processes used by HSE and leadership to protect workers from injury or illness.
Liaises as necessary between internal stakeholders, functional and business groups, clients and vendors, to deliver the best value for technologies in use or planned for use.
Develops new processes for the company to adopt new technologies applied enterprise-wide, or to meet the needs of specific business lines or individual projects.
Conducts innovation pilots and surveys of new technologies as a research strategy to enable strategic decisions to be taken.
Conducts regular assessments of current technologies to determine their continued usefulness, utilization, and identify improvement opportunities.
Makes decisions independently on engineering/scientific problems and methods relating to HSE technologies using advanced techniques, modifications and extensions of theories, precepts and practices of related sciences and disciplines.
Supervises the preparation, maintenance, retrieval, and communication of records, reports, or documents that may be required to meet corporate requirements.
Other related duties/functions as assigned.
Issue an annual HSE Strategic Technology Plan.
Maintain a HSE digital capabilities and innovation document for use as a project tool.
Submit new HSE technology requests to the Fluor IT Governance Review Committee.
Submit budgetary estimates for annual financial planning purposes.
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and ten (10) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to fourteen (14) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job site related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
Skills demonstrating the capability to run a medium to large project or multi-project site
Proven ability with leadership skills including mediation skills
Demonstrate high critical thinking/reasoning ability
Effective presentation skills including public speaking
Expert organizational skills
A valid driver's license, if required
Other Job Requirements
Continue education and knowledge of industry-wide HSE-related information and technologies as well as new regulations and trends through continuing education, conferences, and/or periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization
Serve as a Company representative to external HSE organizations
