What you can expect as a Senior Associate, IP Data Analytics:
You will be responsible for data management and quality control of the data underpinning RPX's Names Service, which is foundational to RPX's EMPOWER platform. RPX's Names Service analyzes, transforms, and disambiguates raw strings obtained from various data sources so that they are accurately matched to real-world "master" entities and complex corporate relationships can be created between entities to match real-world relationships. This data is critical for powering analytics, patent risk assessment, decision-making, and much more.

In compliance with CA Pay Transparency, the RPX target budgeted salary for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 depending on skills and experience and the RPX base salary range is $95,000 to $160,000. In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive benefits and perks, including group health coverage, company HSA contribution, 401(k) matching, medical disability and family leave benefits, fitness reimbursement, community service days, charitable donation matching, and more, as well as the option to work remotely or from our beautiful San Francisco office.

In this role, you will:
- Manage data development for RPX's Names Service
- Review existing code, identify bugs, and propose fixes
- Maintain, improve, clean, and manipulate our databases to ensure they meet RPX's data platform goals
- Develop and implement data standards, data policies, and data quality rules for key datasets related to patents and patent litigations
- Ensure the quality, completeness, timeliness, and consistency of data throughout its lifecycle
- Diagnose and resolve issues within our data-related systems, and address complex data challenges to ensure efficient and reliable data operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and translate them into data solutions
- Design and build tools to promote awareness and track quality standards
- Manage remote legal document coding teams of 6+ people
- Respond to internal and external user inquiries regarding RPX's data
- Hours of availability for this role are 8am to 4pm PST
Do you have the experience to join our team?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative subject area
- 5+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role
- 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Java
- 3+ years of experience with SQL and Microsoft Excel
- 1+ years of experience working with Large Language Models, including interacting with LLMs through APIs
- 2 + years of experience working with APIs
- Dedicated and driven with the ability and desire to work in a self-guided manner
- Possess a growth mindset; enjoy solving ambiguous, challenging, and impactful problems
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in problem-solving and analytical thinking in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, and/or patent litigation
