Your Role
The Enterprise Architecture & Innovation team helps manage and align Blue Shield of California's technology infrastructure with its business goals, ensuring that independently conceived and deployed solutions do not lead to unnecessarily complicated and expensive siloed systems. It defines the enterprise business & technology capabilities and their relationships to run, grow, and transform the business. The Enterprise Architect, Principal will report to the Sr. Director Enterprise Architecture, Business Portfolios and Application Architecture. In this role, you will combine a deep understanding of technology, applications, industry best practices, business processes, and architectural patterns to drive business and IT transformation initiatives that meet our enterprise objectives. In this role, you will collaborate with business and technology leaders, stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to understand strategic business initiatives and develop technical solutions that satisfy those needs. This individual has extensive knowledge in multiple business and architecture domains, is forward-thinking, and is well-versed in emerging technologies and trends. Must possess the excellent interpersonal skills necessary to articulate the value of a strong enterprise architecture function to critical business stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture blueprints that articulate our business strategy, future state business and technology architecture, and multiyear execution roadmap
- Collaborate with other architects to create and document standards and patterns that can be leveraged for future re-use, and actively seek opportunities to leverage industry solutions for new business offerings and services
- Develop and maintain reference architecture which includes the reference model, guiding principles, standards, patterns, and usage guidelines
- Create contextual and conceptual models that help document and simplify potentially complex topics
- Manage the creation and maintenance of models that identify interdependencies between business units, roles, associated capabilities, and technologies
- Develop reference architecture for migration of Facets to Azure, including the definition of application, data, integration, and infrastructure layers
- Define integration architecture for interfaces between Facets, Snowflake data warehouse, and several major business applications
- Develop solution architecture for various business initiatives that have a dependency on core administrative processes
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent experience, and at least 10 years relevant business and IT experience
- Requires at least 3 years of experience in an architecture role
- Deep understanding of healthcare and industry technologies is critical
- At least 3 years of experience working in the healthcare industry preferred
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines is preferred
- Requires a strong track record of architectural practice and success in a large environment
- Enterprise Architecture Methodology certification preferred
- Experience developing solution architectures for Core Administrative Process Systems such as TriZetto Facets or similar
- Experience developing solution architectures for large-scale SaaS ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion Clouds of experience in an architecture role

- Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two (2) times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above).Exceptions:
- Member-facing and approved out-of-state roles remain remote.
- Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.
