Job Description

WORK DUTIES: - TIME %DUTIES
25% Coordinate selected construction projects.
  • Provide written schedules to determine construction duration and manpower requirements.
  • Analyze and implement construction documents for the purpose of obtaining competitive bids.
  • Perform on site supervision of construction trades and provide written observations regarding schedule, deficiencies and/or defects, and budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for various construction projects, materials and equipment.
  • Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; prepare background documents as necessary.

40% Oversee Maintenance Department Trades Staff

  • Work with the Senior Director of Plant Operations and ISF Staff to schedule projects.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to schedule trades staff to assist with events as needed.
  • Monitor progress of projects and give directions to keep work flowing in a safe and timely manner.
  • Monitor projects for quality of work being performed to keep consistent with ISF standards.
  • Give guidance for material selection of projects.
  • Coordinate routine service and repairs of HVAC equipment and HVAC controls, from either outside contractors or ISF maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate routine service and repairs of miscellaneous mechanical systems, with either outside contractors or ISF Staff.
  • Schedule routine inspections and maintenance on all fire suppression systems with either outside contractors or ISF Staff.
  • Schedule routine inspections and maintenance on all fire monitoring systems with either outside contractors or ISF Staff.
  • Schedule routine inspections and maintenance of all elevators located on the ISF Grounds.
  • Keeps current records for inspections and maintenance for items noted in this section as well as warranty information where applicable.
  • Work with outside contractors to facilitate maintenance and repairs of buildings and grounds.
  • Approve timecards and time off for Maintenance Trades Staff.
  • Responsible for the response to after-hour issues concerning facilities and infrastructure.
  • Assists trades to develop and keep current infrastructure mapping.

25% Implement a safety program
  • Work with the Operations Manager, Electrical Manager and Custodial Manager on implementing safety standards and guidelines.
  • Schedule regular safety meetings with maintenance staff.
  • Implement safety standards and guidelines.
  • Produce regular safety reports.

10% Oversee Grandstand operations
  • Work with Grandstand Stage Promotor to ensure operations run smoothly and needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Rental and scheduling of all equipment for the back-of-house production.
  • Front-of-house set-up to include chairs, concessions tents, crowd barriers, portable toilets, and pre-fair cleaning.
  • Oversee the Grandstand Cleaning Crew
  • Work with Grandstand Security to ensure needs are met and operations run smoothly.
  • Work with back-of-house caterer, complete set up of catering tent.
  • Work with all stage production contractors to ensure needs are met and operations run smoothly.

Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will also include evening and weekend work. Extended hours during summer months
Minimum Qualification Requirements
An equivalent combination of education and experience resulting in a minimum of 15 years combined experience, 3 years of which were at a managerial level in project and/or construction administration in residential and/or commercial applications.

Additional Qualification Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, aerial maps and surveys.
  • Ability to operate survey instruments including transits, levels, distance meters.
  • Ability to inspect completed and in-progress work for accuracy, compliance with standards, and other related criteria.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records such as blueprint files, construction material costs, and project schedules.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise construction trades, grounds crews and interim event staff under the direction of supervisors.
  • Displays high standards of ethical conduct. Exhibits honesty and integrity. Refrains from theft-related, dishonest or unethical behavior.
