Title: Subcontractor Manager Effective Date: February 2025
Reports: Manager, New Business Development FLSA: Exempt
In this key role, you will identify, evaluate, and onboard subcontractors and suppliers to support the growth of our business. With a sharp focus on market trends, networking, and innovation, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our enterprise remains agile and competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace. Your ability to lead with strategic insight and foster collaborative partnerships will be integral to achieving our organizational goals. The person will have many years of experience in Telecommunications. Subcontractor Sourcing Specialist is not a remote or hybrid position. The person will be working out of the office in Plymouth Michigan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement and maintain long-term subcontractor sourcing strategies
Perform subcontractor prequalification process including internal and external vetting
Manage and perform subcontractor onboarding process
Stay informed on market trends to adjust sourcing strategies proactively
Serve as the primary liaison between company and subcontractors, maintaining clear communication, coordination, and compliance
Build and maintain strong relationships with key subcontractors ensuring that subcontractors stay in compliance with company requirements
Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms to secure the best value for the company
Work collaboratively with support and operations teams to coordinate subcontractor selection, track subcontractor performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation
Support estimating and pricing teams by developing target subcontractor pricing through market research, historical data, and industry knowledge
Assist operations teams with drafting formal notices to subcontractors
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience managing subcontractors in a relevant field
Five+ years of telecommunications industry experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
Ability to learn company's services and abilities
Strong attention to detail, collaboration, organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and perform multiple negotiations at the same time
Strong ability to influence desired outcomes by master relationship building
Self-starter that works well independently and as part of a team
Good understanding of industry terms and conditions
Proficiency in MS Office
ESSENTIAL PHYISCAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer and/or smartphone
Prolonged periods of talking on either a phone, computer or in person
Occasional travel up to 5% of the time
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
