Job Overview:
Observe day-to-day operations with the focus on identifying opportunities for improvement. Assist in the strategic planning & systematic evaluation of manufacturing operations in Body-, Paint-, and Assembly Shop with an emphasis on establishing sustainable lean manufacturing principles. Execute project plans to improve effectiveness/increase efficiency of planned/existent processes

Job Overview:
Observe day-to-day operations with the focus on identifying opportunities for improvement. Assist in the strategic planning & systematic evaluation of manufacturing operations in Body-, Paint-, and Assembly Shop with an emphasis on establishing sustainable lean manufacturing principles. Execute project plans to improve effectiveness/increase efficiency of planned/existent processes
Responsibilities:
- Execute continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process and organization using various Lean methodologies and principles (e.g., 5S, VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, etc.)
- Support in the execution of planning workshops and conduct project reviews in preparation for ramp ups or major adjustments within operations
- Evaluate day-to-day operations and identify improvement opportunities in departments, areas, stations, and processes
- Support operations to ensure that standard working methods and processes are adhered to and re-evaluated/verified on a frequent basis
- Audit manufacturing operations and identify/highlight deficiencies
- Conceptualize/coordinate the building of mockups using extruded aluminum profile with the intent of introducing sophisticated, solution-oriented production aids and material/equipment handling devices.
- Perform administrative tasks including the research & ordering of aluminum profile, fasteners, etc.
- Summarize, document & present improvements in manufacturing overhead, efficiency and utilization.
- Utilization of optimization methods in administrative areas
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing engineering or related field. 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree.
- 2-4 years of experience working in a related area, preferably in an automotive production environment.
- Strongly prefer successful completion of a Daimler lean advisor training, a greenbelt / six sigma program, or other relevant lean credentials.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience in applying/exercising Mercedes Production System (or industry equivalent TPS) methodologies.
- Proven written and verbal communication at all levels within the organization with good negotiation skills.
- Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.
- Preferred: Experience creating / using 3D CAD Design Software such as SOLIDWORKS or AutoCAD
- Experiences: in Data Analysis and KPI
