Job Description:
Direct counsel is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join a distinguished boutique firm in Beverly Hills. This is a unique opportunity for an attorney specializing in employment law to represent high-profile clients and work on a variety of employment-related matters, including complex litigation and workplace counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and represent clients in employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and employee classification.
- Handle complex employment litigation in both state and federal courts, including representing employers in claims related to wage and hour violations, retaliation, and employee rights issues.
- Draft and review employment contracts, non-compete agreements, severance agreements, and workplace policies.
- Provide strategic counsel on labor law matters, compliance with state and federal regulations, and risk management for businesses.
- Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and other alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Conduct internal investigations regarding harassment, discrimination, or policy violations.
- Stay up to date on changing employment laws and regulations, and proactively advise clients on compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 2-8 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on both litigation and workplace counseling.
- In-depth knowledge of California employment laws and federal labor regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Strong ability to handle a large caseload and manage client expectations.
- California Bar admission is required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing both employers and employees in employment-related disputes.
- Experience with workplace investigations and counseling on compliance matters.
- Prior experience working at a boutique law firm is highly preferred.
