Product Engineer - CAE

The Product Engineer - Analytical Verification, as a key member of the advanced engineering product design team, will be responsible for the supporting functional verification of advanced concept designs through simulation analysis. The Product Engineer -Analytical Verification will work closely with the product design team in the early stages of the concept design to optimize for performance and durability prior to prototype testing and development.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Masters preferred.
2-4 year of engineering experience
MS Office proficient
Experience with modeling EV and ICE/Hybrid propulsion systems.
Experience with CAD software such as CATIA or PRO E.
Experience with CAE tools, with a focus on 1D Multiphysics tools such as GT-Suite, and CFD tools, such as PreonLab and Fluent/Hyperworks CFD. Experience with thermal modeling using these tools is desirable. Secondary experience is desirable using tools such as Adams, CarSim, Motion Solve, Matlab/Simulink/Simscape & FEA.
Hypermesh/Simlab, Ansys Maxwell/Motor-CAD and GT-Suite FE-Mag, Powerforge, and RealDrive experience desirable.
Python, C, C++ programming also a plus.

Key Accountabilities:
Perform standard engineering analysis to support advanced product design group.
Interface with Core/Component Eng. Groups to support advanced product design group.
Assist the design, development and validation of driveline products with adherence to engineering disciplines and provide results in a timely manner.
Support creation of Analytical Design Validation Plan.
Perform Multiphysics simulation modelling for functional verification and performance optimization on advanced driveline design concepts and systems.
Utilize other simulation tools for modelling of complex systems to aid in the concept design process.
Develop product specific modelling techniques and tools to assist in design parameter selection.
Use validation testing data to correlate simulation models for improvements in the simulation modelling process.
Support customer technical meetings and presentations.
Support problem solving activities through simulations as required.
Support DFMEA activity as required.
Support Linamar launch process (CFLP) for program execution.
Utilize problem solving techniques such as 8-D, IS/IS-NOT, fishbone, Red X and 6-Panels as part of failure analysis.
