Process Controls Engineer - Hybrid | Dallas, TX

An innovative energy company in Dallas is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to enhance and optimize automation, instrumentation, and electrical (I&E) systems. This role offers a hybrid schedule with in-office work Monday-Wednesday and remote flexibility on Thursday-Friday.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems to drive automation efficiency.

  • Diagnose and enhance instrumentation, electrical, and control systems for improved reliability and performance.

  • Lead control system modifications, upgrades, and installations to support evolving operational needs.

  • Develop and refine process control logic and system documentation for long-term stability.

  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.

  • Perform root cause analysis on control system issues and implement solutions.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to streamline automation initiatives.

  • Provide training and technical support to on-site personnel.

  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and advancements in process automation.
What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in process controls, automation, and I&E systems within industrial sectors (oil & gas, chemical, manufacturing, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), DCS, SCADA, and HMI programming.

  • Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation, electrical control loops, and automation networks.

  • Familiarity with communication protocols like Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (NEC, NFPA, ISA, OSHA).

  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving and project management capabilities.

  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have, but Not Required):

  • Exposure to Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).

  • Familiarity with data analytics, IIoT, or advanced process control techniques.
