QUALIFICATIONS
The starting target salary range is $95,000 - $115,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. Expanded pay ranges may be available for growth and advancement opportunities. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for a profit-sharing opportunity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing technical support to production department: Developing metrics, reviewing resources, troubleshooting/problem solving production quality issues, initiating process improvements, training production employees, and providing corrective actions on customer issues.
- Development of new products: Involvement with product development on project, provide direction on prototypes/pilot runs/1st articles, interaction with production employees on requirements, and review capital equipment.
- Develop and maintain production documentation: Initiate and Update routings & ECO's, controlled documents, etc.
- Team member on various lean improvement projects: Actively involved in Kaizen/Lean events, internal audits, action items, various engineering projects.
- Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a production facility; Analyzes assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.
- Works on some complex tasks/projects individually
- Work may be directed by others (supervisor, production supervisors, product development, etc.)
- Plan and implement preventive and corrective actions for reducing scrap, rework and down time
- Contribute to creation and continuous improvement of manufacturing work instructions, process control plans and other documentation required for production release.
- Support operations performance in meeting quality, safety, morale, cost, productivity and delivery objectives.

- Evaluates production equipment capabilities in meeting product requirements
- Understands variation and causes of it, works to improve adherence to design requirements using SPC, capabilities analysis, manufacturing standards, and review of Print tolerances
- Applies statistical methods/SPC in reviewing production capability to design requirements
- Understands Lean manufacturing concepts and applies them when analyzing workflow and space requirements
- Estimates production costs needed for management decisions
- Processes ECO's, routings, and other product data in a timely, productive manner
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Work as a team player
- Persistent in resolving issues in a reasonable timeframe
- Able to differentiate between actions required to address quality issues, to differentiate between corrections for following the process versus corrective actions needed by implementing process changes.
- Establish trust in the continuous improvement process by finding balance between taking personal responsibility for process aspects proven effective yet questioning aspects that reflect excessive waste or misguided principles.
- Maintain connectivity to shop floor issues by being involved when quality issues arise; being accessible, collaborating with shop floor employees, knowing design requirements, creating standard work, and taking personal responsibility for the reasonable execution of standard work.
- Important to simplify process tasks to ensure repeatability for a robust process
- Establish trust by others by being authentic, leading by example, and basing decisions on "right thing to do"
- Lead on defining process requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S degree in engineering or related field 4-year degree from an accredited university and 4+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with rotational molding, required.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principals and tools.
