Job Description:
The Senior Transportation Supervisor position manages transportation management daily activities related to customers and carriers. He/She plays a vital role in carrier management, existing customer management, and new customer implementations. This position contributes to business development and revenue growth. He/She resolves customer issues, promotes quality assurance, and manages financial objectives.
This position has a focus on customer satisfaction that is achieved through issue resolution, problem solving, data analysis and recommendations, cost saving initiatives, carrier performance management, monthly business reviews and customer engagement.
He/She analyzes complex customer order characteristics, O/D pairs, mode optimization and temperature requirements. This position provides pricing to customers and collaborates to define project needs and provides support to new business implementations. This position collaborates cross-functionally (e.g., Business Development, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Security etc.) to provide cost-effective Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) pricing models for increasing profitable revenue. He/She interfaces with customers to evaluate their needs and propose solutions. This position supervises transportation speclialists.

Responsibilities:
- Synthesizes customer data and provides meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Provides cost and pricing information, including customer and lane margin analyses.
- Generates and analyzes transportation pricing models.
- Maintain customer and department level CIP programs.
- Leads team process improvement initiatives.
- Works with cross functional teams to identify customer business requirements, process adherence and Healthcare compliance.
- Develops performance metrics to manage carrier performance.
- Generates and distributes operational, financial, and network performance reports to ensure UPS meets operational objectives.
- Maintains reporting systems to support UPS goals.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a general understanding of ways to identify and measure current customer and business needs; uses business needs to define the project's requirements.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of a business problem; recommends a solution to solve the business problem.
- Demonstrates a general knowledge of techniques for soliciting and gathering information.
- Demonstrates a detailed understanding of supply chain concepts; makes recommendations for changes to solve supply chain problems.
- Demonstrates a general understanding and use of grammatical rules; expresses ideas clearly and concisely; explains the relationship of effective writng to business objectives.
- Experience in Transportation.
- Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent.
- Experience using Microsoft products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Understanding of AS400 TMS system - Preferred.
