The Desjardins Group Pension Plan (DGPP), the fifth largest private pension fund in Canada, manages over $18 billion in net assets and collaborates with a world-class network of financial partners. As a signatory of the Principles for Responsible Investment since January 2018, the DGPP is committed to incorporating sustainable and responsible practices into its investment strategies. As a senior ESG risk management advisor, you play a key role in defining, planning and executing the DGPP's responsible investment strategy. You serve as a subject matter expert and help develop strategic positions and priority themes related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. You work closely with colleagues across the DGPP division to integrate these issues into decision-making processes. Specific to this position: This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the development of responsible investment business best practices in Canada and abroad. - Responsible Investment (RI) strategy: Collaborate with the RI practice leader to develop, implement and assess the DGPP's responsible investment strategy.
- RI performance evaluation: Act as a reference for the RI performance evaluation process of the DGPP's selected portfolio managers, covering public and private markets, real estate and infrastructure.
- Strategic positions: Help implement and monitor strategic positions as well as priority themes for ESG issues and RI strategies.
- ESG data management: Actively help manage environmental, social and governance data in line with investment strategies.
- RI analysis and methodologies: Contribute to strategic thinking, the development of impact metrics and RI methodologies.
- Strategic influence: Actively contribute to the rollout of the RI strategic influence component.
- Reporting: Participate in RI reporting activities and external report creation (annual report, PRI disclosure).
- Trend watch: Monitor market trends to inform investment strategies.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience developing dashboards and strategic indicators
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
