We're looking for an experienced and highly organized Technical Project Manager to oversee the successful implementation of specialty Electro-Mechanical Modification projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering technical information, compiling comprehensive technical specifications, as well as managing timelines, budgets, and scope while serving as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams, and stakeholders. You will ensure all project milestones are met, communicate with cross-functional teams, and maintain a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
Your Key Responsibilities
Ensure that assigned projects are delivered on time, according to scope, and within budget.
Single point of contact for customer, management, and all internal departments on all project related matters. The Modification Project Engineer must be included in all customer correspondence and participate in all meetings with the customer.
Gather information through on site visits along with interpretation of inspection reports and photographs.
Clear understanding of PLC and relay logic control system design principles and practices.
Clear understanding of AC and DC power, control circuitry, and electrical and hydraulic circuit diagrams and symbols
Familiarity with power distribution systems
Ability to prepare and update Internal Project Specification documents.
Responsible for project initiation including kick-off meetings and project release to all participating Doppelmayr facilities.
Work with Customer to ensure all contract milestones are met in a timely manner, including information that the customer is responsible to provide.
Have a full and complete understanding of the scope of work as defined in the contract and other supporting documents, and work with the Sales Manager and customer to clarify any scope questions in a timely manner.
Intimately aware of production and equipment delivery schedule. Provides input to Internal Logistics Team regarding delivery priorities based on installation progress.
Ability to create and follow a budget for the project using Pricing Calculation tools. Participate in project financial meetings to explain variances and take appropriate actions.
Continuous monitoring of all schedules, reporting on any schedule deviations to the Management team, and working to resolve schedule problems.
Support of on-site activity during installation and commissioning. Ensure that the following activities are happening in a timely manner: creation of Additional Deliveries, design changes, shipping coordination, etc. Regular contact with person(s) in charge on each job site to evaluate status of work and schedule for remaining work.
Focus on early identification of scope creep and written notification to customer prior to proceeding with the work.
Manage inter-company scope, schedule, and costs as related to the project.
In-depth knowledge of project contract language and obligations. Ability and willingness to resolve contractual disputes with the support of legal counsel.
Identify scope changes that occur throughout the project and prepare notifications and/or change orders to be presented to the customer, including calculating the price of change orders.
Negotiate all scope, cost or schedule changes with the Customer. Ensure all impacts are captured and change orders are executed.
Provide continued detailed updates for the weekly project management meeting. Escalate critical issues to management as needed.
Coordinate with cross discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
Ensure that submittal documents are provided in a timely manner to support Customer's coordination with authorities who issue permits for installation and operation.
As schedule permits, conduct on-site commissioning or provide availability and support for other on-site commissioners.
Attend the acceptance test and ensure all required documentation is completed.
Seal documentation with PE stamp as required by state/AHJ.
Collect and consolidate punch list items from all parties and manage all punch list activities until completion, in collaboration with Customer Request Manager.
Verify all required project documents have been completed and filed (engineering package, certifications, checklists, etc.).
Provides tracking on contract payment milestones and informing Accounts Receivable when payment milestones have been achieved.
Verify all project close-out activities have been completed.
Ability to support other Engineers and Customer Service as a specialist when needed.
Ability to travel 25% up to 50% for regular check-in visits to DMUSA, inspection visits/commissioning/acceptance testing/handover & service work (as required).
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally in the electrical and/or mechanical fields.
5+ years of Engineering and Project experience
PE Licensure with ability to obtain additional licenses via comity
Outgoing Personality - willing to proactively progress communication with Customers, Engineers, and Authorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
Ability to develop, lead, and motivate cross-functional teams.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Solid organizational skills including time management and multi-tasking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
Engineering and Construction project experience strongly preferred.
Experience using Confluence/JIRA for project management tasks.
Experience in the ski industry is a plus.
