About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Development Lead. This is a mid-level, individual contributor role. This business development and sales role is responsible for prospecting and building strong relationships with industrial sector clients, determining customer needs, formulating proposals for services, closing sales, and executing a successful handoff of these sales to appropriate staff within Cascade for delivery of decarbonization products and services across the client's enterprise.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Prospect and qualify clients for interest Cascade products and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to drive long-term business growth.
  • Conduct consultative selling, understanding client needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets and KPIs.
  • Lead discovery calls, product demonstrations, solutions (proposal) presentations and negotiations.
  • Price work and write proposals.
  • Respond to inbound leads.
  • Learn Cascade products and services and their value proposition.
  • Successfully handoff of won work to the delivery team.
  • Represent Cascade at industry conferences, association events and committees, webinars and other industry related activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and products teams to align strategies and offerings.


This is a full-time, exempt position with preference to those residing close to a major airport. Travel is anticipated to be a maximum of 40 days per year for in-person visitation with key business and association contacts and participation in industry events, conferences, and meetings.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and relative experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience, which could include business development/sales experience and/or general experience in the industrial decarbonization, energy efficiency or clean energy space.


A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with people at all levels of an organization, from corporate executives to facility maintenance managers.
  • Presentation skills before both small and large groups and engagement with clients
  • A strong grasp of client financial metrics and the use of these metrics to sell-in projects to key decisionmakers
  • Proficiency in any of the following: decarbonization strategies, energy management services,
  • Exceptional relationship-building ability with clients, partners, and internal teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM platforms, and the ability to quickly learn other software programs
  • Existing network of relevant contacts in the North American industrial sector
  • Ability to work independently and be a strong team player.

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health, vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy, wellbeing contribution of $500 for HSA, FSA, or LSA (Lifestyle Spending Account).

The compensation for this position is subject to the Cascade Energy Sales Incentive Plan which is designed to motivate and reward Sales employees for their contributions to Cascade Energy's success and includes a base salary and a variable component based on individual performance. The potential earnings for this role is $90,000 - $140,000, based on performance.

Final salary offered may also vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experiences if different than the above.
