As a Senior Treasury Analyst, you will contribute to and support the management of the Port's treasury essential functions: banking: the safe and efficient movement of Port funds through the banking systems and for compliance with all laws and regulations related to treasury management; and the prudent investments of the Port's surplus funds.
  • You will support the Treasury Manager in leading the management of all banking relationships and activities including accessing, reviewing, and monitoring banking related services data and reporting activities.
  • You will research, analyze, and provide data to assist the Treasury Manager in the ongoing management and administration of investment portfolios, including cash forecasting.
  • You will assist in the review of the investment policy to address changes in law, market conditions, and/or follow best practices.
  • You will support the collaboration with Port personnel and external partners to receive and disburse Port money efficiently and economically.
  • You will participate in opportunities for development by leading treasury activities, with the support of the Treasury Manager.
  • You will manage treasury software applications and banks' portal administration, including users access and services.
  • You will review and analyze all fees, including banking and merchant services.
  • You will support banking related services procurements, and the administration of depository and custodial banking contracts, including reviews of banking and banking related services providers performance and identify opportunities for improvement.


Who you are:

  • Experienced - You have four (4) years of experience performing financial analysis and/or financial management, including budget development and/or reporting experience and are a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or must obtain within (18) eighteen months from time of hire.
  • Desired - We hope you have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration.

You also have comprehensive knowledge of best practices related to banking, investments, and risks, including fraud and cybersecurity, and overall treasury management. You are committed to maintaining the integrity of the treasury function and proactively address potential issues.
  • Analytical & Creative Problem-Solver - You possess analytical and problem solving skills for complex problems/data with a holistic view, attention to detail and high level of accuracy through self-review. You also have effective and well-developed research and troubleshooting skills to timely identify root cause analysis and provide solutions relating to system issues.
  • Efficient Communicator - You effectively communicate with and can present information to diverse groups, including analysts, managers, and executives. You can assist or lead with effectively explaining complex banking and investment components to various staff.
  • Independent Critical-Thinker - You can effectively self-manage and work independently with minimal supervision. You develop an appropriate analytical approach or solution to problems and research treasury functions related alternatives for investments or banking and understanding how they work to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Technically Skilled - You have advanced skills with technology applications utilized in treasury (e.g. Oracle's PeopleSoft Financials, SymPro Portfolio Management Software, SymPro Debt Manager Software), Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), SharePoint, Bloomberg, data optimization tools such as Alteryx, banking software, payment gateway and credit card reporting software, and new or emerging applications relevant to the Port's treasury.


What else you need to know:

  • Work Schedule - Your normal work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management's discretion.
  • Washington State Residency Requirement - Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
